Pico de gallo is a classic Mexican salsa made with fresh tomatoes, onion, cilantro, lime juice, and chile. Unlike blended salsas, it’s chunky, bright, and incredibly fresh. This quick recipe comes together in about 10 minutes and is perfect for tacos, grilled meats, eggs, quesadillas, or tortilla chips.

Ingredients
  

  • 4 Roma tomatoes diced
  • cup white onion finely diced
  • 1 jalapeño or serrano chile finely chopped
  • cup fresh cilantro chopped
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • ½ teaspoon salt or to taste

Instructions
 

  • Dice the tomatoes and place them in a bowl.
  • Add finely diced white onion.
  • Chop the jalapeño or serrano chile and add it to the mixture.
  • Stir in chopped cilantro.
  • Add fresh lime juice and salt.
  • Mix well and taste for seasoning.
  • Let sit for 10 minutes before serving.
